Angeline Nguyen became a member of the HBI-DC team in February 2017. Working as the Linkage-to-Care Coordinator, her main priorities are:
- connecting patients with care, and
- helping them navigate the healthcare system for treatment.
She coordinates between health facilities and institutes to help patients find the care they need. She recently participated in conducting a survey to help the DC Department of Health improve their work in linking patients to care and treatment services.
Angeline graduated from the Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry. After college she balanced work as a medical assistant in a dermatology practice and a receptionist for an internist. She spent her spare time volunteering as a certified EMT for the Bailey’s Crossroad Volunteer Fire and Rescue as well as a Girl Scout leader for Troop 2016 on the weekends.
She later pursued her Associate’s degree in Nursing and worked as a registered nurse for three years in the Telemetry/Trauma Step Down Unit at HCA Chippenham Hospital. She is bilingual in English and Vietnamese.
