Meheret Lehr


Meheret Lehr is a current member of the Board of Directors. She served as the Fundraising Chair for the 2015 Annual Gala. She volunteers for screening Hepatitis B and C, working in collaboration with the Executive Director to connect the African Immigrant Community with HBI-DC. She managed to widen the outreach to the African immigrant community, helping to provide health screening, education, culturally competent interpretation about (HBI-DC), and linkages to care.

She is also active in volunteering with different non-profit organizations in her community and serves on different committees in the Montgomery County Public School system.

Mrs. Lehr is a graduate of Notre Dame of Maryland University with a BA concentration in biology and a minor in psychology. She works at SociaLab as a Project Manager. She has worked for Recom Technologies, NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, California, Maryland Departments of Health & Mental Hygiene and University of Maryland School of Medicine.

HBI-DC is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Our organization’s mission is to mobilize communities to prevent liver diseases caused by viral hepatitis among Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, African immigrants, and other high-risk groups.
